For this blog post of mine, I’m going to share with you those quotes that I’ve highlighted while I was reading Paulo Coelho’s Manuscript Found in Accra.

In which by the way, I’m also grateful that I’ve read this at the right time when I needed such inspiring and profound thoughts to help me feel calm and at ease. For such insights shared in this book about everything in life gave me such strength to overcome my fears and to be more braver and more positive all throughout. To keep the faith and believe that it’s going to be okay.

So here are the following quotes:

  1. “Learn three important things: Wait patiently for the right moment to act. Do not let the next opportunity slip by you. And take pride in your scars.”

  2. “In the cycle of nature there is no such thing as victory or defeat; there is only movement.”

  3. “They listen to the beating of their own heart. They’re aware of being tense, of being afraid. They consider their life and discover that, despite the fear, their faith is still alive in their soul, driving them onward.”

  4. “Expect nothing and you won’t be disappointed.”

  5. “Solitude is not the absence of love, but its complement.”

  6. “In cases of unrequited love, there is always the hope that one day it will be requited.”

  7. “Don’t try to be useful. Try to be yourself; that is enough, and that makes all the difference.”

  8. “Do one thing: Live the life you always wanted to live. Avoid criticizing others and concentrate on fulfilling your dreams. This may not seem very important to you, but God, who sees all, knows that the example you give is helping Him to improve the world. And each day, He will bestow more blessings upon it.”

  9. “May I be capable of accepting myself as I am: a person who walks and feels and talks like anyone else, but who, despite his faults, is also brave.”

  10. “No matter how you are feeling, get up every morning and prepare to let your light shine forth.”

  11. “Elegance is not an outer quality, but a part of the soul that is visible to others.”

  12. “Fate is never unfair to anyone. We are all free to love or hate what we do. When we love, we find the same joy in our daily activity as do those who one day set off in search of their dreams.”

  13. What is success? It is being able to go to bed each night with your soul at peace.”

  14. Anxiety is part of love, and should not be blamed because of that.

  15. “Anxiety was born in the very same moment as mankind. And since we will never be able to master it, we will have to learn to live with it – just as we have learned to live with storms.”

  16. When you are going through difficult times, remember: you might have lost some major battles, but you survived and you’re still here. That is a victory. Show your happiness and celebrate your ability to go forward.”

  17. Love does not need to be understood. It needs only to be shown.”

  18. “Love is an act of Faith.”

Well, that’s it for now, and till my next blog post.

Thank you so much for reading!

“Poetry is what happens when your mind stops working, and for a moment, all you do is feel.”

-Atticus

For my first blog post for the month of November 2017, I’m going to share with you those poems that I’ve highlighted and saved while I was reading Ms. Rupi Kaur’s latest collection of poems.

In which by the way these poems have been a very inspiring and mind-boggling one to read. And it’s like getting into a glimpse into the poet’s vulnerability, and because of that, she was able to flow such thoughts in a writing that had resulted into creating such poems that a lot of modern women can truly related themselves into.

Furthermore, it was very thoughtful of her, to dedicate it to her dear mother – the woman who was braved enough to leave behind her family and country in order to pursue a better life with her husband and children to a place that is culturally different than what she was used to.

In addition to that, ever since Rupi Kaur had been a child, she had always looked up to her mother as a source of strength and inspiration in becoming the kind of person that she wanted to be. Someone who is independent and knows her worth as a woman.

Love More and Worry Less

Sometimes, I truly admire candid people. Why? For they are sometimes the brave one’s. That if they show such real concern about some people. They themselves will tell it to that person. And not let the others do the job for them. So if there’s someone out there that does something that we do not like. Please, have the guts to tell it to their face BUT in a gentle and kind manner. I’m sure they’re also brave enough to accept such criticism. It just doesn’t seem nice acting you’re okay in front of that person that concerns you, and when he/she turns their back, that’s the time that you’ll fret about them. So they didn’t know that they’ve actually done something that was already disturbing. And that act alone doesn’t show such real concern.

Moreover, it saddens me that there are some people out there who keeps on complaining. Always remember, that no matter how hard life truly is, just think that we are still blessed. Of course, we all have our struggles, and at the end of the day, we are also the one’s who will be facing it. So be strong. And don’t spend each day grumbling. Don’t you know that WHEN YOU THINK MORE OF WHAT YOU HAVE, THE LESS YOU’LL COMPLAIN OF WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE? So be GRATEFUL EVERY SINGLE DAY. Plus, don’t forget to START THE DAY WITH A BIG SMILE! 😀
